Is owning a Jaguar expensive? Also I understand they are bad in inclimate weather?

It’s British!! They were designed by Fred Flintstone. Brits are great at making music, brewing beer and throwing darts….They are not engineers!! Go German or Japanese

If you buy used make sure it’s a post-1998 model. Ford finally got the electrics sorted out by then and mechanical failures dropped drastically from then on.

buy a ford crown victoria or a mercury grand marquis instead, a older one with a distributor

The old Jaguar’s had lots of reliability problems and don’t work well with people outside europe.
My dad had a white 1970 Jaguar XJ6 and its was terrible.
the car just kept breaking down(more in the summer).

If I’d were you I would look for a used Mercedes or BMW

I hope you have deep pockets as Jags are known for HUGE and repeated repair bills. Can’t speak to the inclimate weather bit though. Take the money and buy a few Fords instead, that way you will always have a spare.
