1985 Jaguar starts fine runs ok but after shut off and trying to start again with engine still warm it stalls?

I have a 1985 Jaguar XJ6 Sovereign and am running into a problem that I don’t understand. The car will start fine and run until you stop and turn the engine off. If you try to start the car back before the engine cools, it will start at first but when you try to put it in gear the engine will die. When the engine is cool it will restart fine. Any idea what could be the cause of this? Thanks

could maybe be the thermostat.. check all your fluids.. spark plugs.. make sure the spark plug wires aren’t burnt or anything and connected properly..

Best to take it into a jaguar dealer. I have a S-type and X-Type.
200 and 2004.You can take it to any Jag dealer/shop any where in North America, UK and europe.

sounds like you have a bad coil pack and it gets overheated and then doesn’t work.
